On Thursday, parts of the Atlanta metropolitan area experienced noticeable smoke and haze. The Sandy Springs Fire Department said the conditions were caused by a controlled burn that occurred in Bartow County, Georgia, on Oct. 22.
The department linked the haze directly to the burn, indicating that smoke from the fire had moved into the metro area.
