The Sandy Springs Fire Department said the haze and smoke reported across metro Atlanta on Thursday, Oct. 22, were likely caused by a controlled burn being carried out in Bartow County, Georgia.
The department explained that the burn, intended for land management, is the probable source of the observed haze, addressing resident concerns.
