The Sharon family has asked the Boston Licensing Board for permission to buy the Blanchard's locations in West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain and to change their name to Kappy's. At the same time, the Patel family submitted an application for a Kappy's Fine Wine & Spirits outlet, indicating the venue’s size and a closing hour of 11 p.m.
Blanchard's has long served Boston as a wine and spirits retailer, recognized for its prominent neon sign that helps customers find the store after dark.
