Divers have located the wreck of the SS Cornwallis, a World War II ship sunk by Nazi forces, off the coast of Maine in water about 400 feet deep. The discovery comes after a seven‑year underwater search.
The vessel, which sank 80 years ago after being struck during a Nazi attack, was identified by the divers during the recent expedition. The find marks the end of a multi‑year effort to locate the lost ship.
