The McDonald’s located at 1312 Hyde Park Avenue will keep its lobby closed from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, and will close earlier on Fridays when the Academy of the Pacific Rim has half‑days, after repeated after‑school disturbances and a robbery at gunpoint that occurred in the restaurant’s restroom.
Franchise officials say the restriction is meant to prevent groups of students from gathering in the lobby and turning into angry mobs, which have prompted numerous calls to Boston Police in recent weeks.
The change applies only to the lobby area; other parts of the restaurant will remain open for service.
