The Illinois Federation of Teachers executive board approved a salary increase for its president, Stacy Davis Gates, raising her annual compensation from $180,000 to $250,000 as of October 2026.
Gates also receives a separate salary for her role as president of the Chicago Teachers Union, reported at $195,000 for 2025.
