Incumbent Representative Jonathan Jackson is running for a third term in Illinois' 1st Congressional District, with Republican challenger Christian Maxwell as his opponent.

Jackson secured a decisive victory in the 2024 election, defeating former opponent Marcus Lewis by a large margin and earning more than 100,000 votes. Maxwell became the Republican nominee after defeating Lewis in the March primary, positioning him to challenge Jackson in the upcoming race.

The contest will determine who will represent the Chicago-area district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
