Authorities from the Texas Department of Transportation, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, TranStar and Houston police said they have detailed how detection systems, alerts, police actions and investigations were handled after two fatal wrong‑way collisions in the Houston area.

The agencies described the methods used to detect the incidents, the alerts that were issued, the response by police at the scenes, and the investigative steps being taken.

Both crashes involved drivers traveling opposite to the direction of traffic, which led to the fatalities.

State and local officials have noted that such wrong‑way driving events have prompted the use of detection technology and coordinated response protocols.
