The City of Houston has started its yearly pumpkin composting program, providing free drop‑off at two locations through November 28, 2026.

The effort is intended to keep pumpkins out of landfills and turn them into usable compost.

The city runs this program each fall after Halloween as part of its seasonal waste‑reduction activities.
