The City of Sugar Land has launched a $15 million renovation to restore the Imperial Sugar Char House, a landmark that dates back roughly a century. The building has remained empty for more than 20 years and is now the focus of a major public‑private restoration effort.

The project is intended to preserve and revitalize the historic char house, which has stood as a symbol of the early 1900s in Sugar Land, Texas. The $15 million investment marks a significant step toward returning the vacant structure to active use.
