The Los Angeles Board of Building and Safety Commissioners voted unanimously on Oct. 20, 2026 to declare the burned-out, abandoned house at 13455 W. Bassett St. in Valley Glen a nuisance and to require the owner to clean up and demolish the structure at their own expense.
The action followed pressure from local residents and the area councilman, who highlighted safety and blight concerns in the neighborhood.
