Los Angeles City Council voted 13-1 to permit the installation of up to 50 cameras on the city’s DASH shuttle fleet and to designate additional street segments as bus‑only lanes, expanding the automated license‑plate‑reader enforcement program.
The measure updates the existing policy that already uses automated readers to monitor bus lanes, now extending the system to include the shuttle buses. Council members John Lee and Eunisses Hernandez were among those who supported the action.
The added cameras are intended to improve compliance with bus‑only lanes throughout Los Angeles.
