Police officials described the event as a large nighttime gathering that attracted about 700 participants, including both riders and spectators. The department focused its response on the crowd, targeting individuals involved in illegal street racing activity and those violating local ordinances.
According to the LAPD, the operation resulted in the seizure of 200 vehicles, which were taken to a police impound lot for processing. In addition to the arrests, officers issued 570 citations to people observed breaking traffic or public safety rules, such as obstructing traffic flow or creating a hazardous environment.
The street takeover took place in Harbor Gateway, a neighborhood in the southern portion of Los Angeles, where residents have previously expressed concerns about noise, traffic disruption, and safety risks associated with similar events. The police statement emphasized that the coordinated effort aimed to deter future gatherings of this type and to enforce existing laws.
While the department did not release the names of those arrested, it confirmed that the individuals faced charges related to unlawful street racing, reckless driving, and other misdemeanor offenses. The citations issued to spectators covered violations such as failure to obey police commands, littering, and obstructing emergency responders.
