Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation on Friday that authorizes San Mateo County to impose restrictions on teenagers riding electric bicycles.
The action is one of three new California safety statutes introduced after a series of fatal e‑bike crashes in the Bay Area prompted legislative response.
