On Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, 911 telephone service for several cellular carriers in Riverside County experienced a temporary interruption that started at 3:30 a.m. and was fully restored by 4:11 p.m., according to county officials and the carriers.
The outage impacted the Indio, Palm Springs and Cathedral City areas. A public‑safety alert was issued at 5:00 p.m. following the restoration of service.
