A kayaker was bitten by a shark on Sunday morning while attempting to release the animal after catching it off the Malibu coast. Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the incident and transported the injured person to a hospital for treatment.
Shark sightings and encounters occasionally happen along Southern California beaches and have sometimes resulted in injuries to people enjoying recreational water activities.
