A wildfire ignited on October 17, 2026 in the Santa Monica Mountains of Los Angeles County, in the area previously burned by the 2018 Woolsey fire.

The blaze occurred only eight years after the earlier fire, as fast‑growing chaparral has regenerated, creating short intervals between fires that helped spark the new ignition.

The 2018 Woolsey fire had devastated the same region, and the rapid regrowth of chaparral is now fueling another fire in the same scar.
