On October 1, 2026, just before 3:15 p.m., a stabbing took place on an Amtrak intercity bus operating near Los Angeles Union Station. An unnamed woman attacked a 60‑year‑old passenger, delivering a stab wound.
A fellow passenger stepped in to aid the victim until Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived on the scene. Officer Keith Metcalf was among the responders who secured the area.
