Fort Lauderdale officials say the city expects more severe flooding on Wednesday as the ongoing king tide pushes water over docks.

Dr. Nancy Gassman and other city representatives warned that high water levels from the tide cycle are likely to worsen conditions.

King tides, which are unusually high tides, have recently produced record flooding across South Florida, providing the backdrop for the current concerns in Fort Lauderdale.
