On September 30, 2026, Ken Griffin announced a donation of three billion dollars to Carnegie Mellon University. Of that amount, two billion dollars is designated for constructing a new 35‑acre campus in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, Florida.

The planned campus will occupy the 35‑acre site in Wynwood and is intended to advance research addressing societal challenges.

Carnegie Mellon noted that this contribution represents the largest single donation ever made to a university in the United States.
