On October 7, 2026, a man was shot in the groin when a firearm in his waistband discharged as he stepped off a bus at a North Miami stop at Northeast 125th Street and 6th Avenue. North Miami police and Miami‑Dade Transit responded, and the man was transported to Aventura Hospital for treatment.
Police said the gun, which was believed to be in the man's waistband, went off unintentionally. He remains hospitalized.
