A memo issued by the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office concluded that the use of deadly force by three Miami police officers on June 14, 2025, was legally justified, and therefore no criminal charges will be filed against them.
The incident occurred in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami when officers responded to a report of gunfire. The confrontation resulted in the deaths of a 28-year-old suspect and an uninvolved bystander.
The decision by the state attorney’s office affirms that the officers’ actions met the legal standards for the use of lethal force in that situation.
