The National Weather Service reported on Sunday that heavy rain and flooding risks are spreading across the central Appalachians, the mid‑Atlantic region and Southern California as the remnants of Isaias and Tropical Storm Rachel move inland.
Isaias's remnants moved northward from the Florida Panhandle into the Appalachian mountains, bringing rainfall to western North Carolina and surrounding areas. At the same time, Rachel's remnants delivered rain and surf along the Southern California coast.
Flood warnings were issued for the affected zones, which also include southern Alabama and the Florida Panhandle.
