On September 24, 2026, at about 6 p.m., a renter shot a suspect who entered an Airbnb on the 800 block of Northwest 19th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale. The suspect was armed and tried to commit a robbery before the renter opened fire.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department reported that the suspect’s attempt at an armed home invasion led to the exchange of gunfire with the renter. No additional details were released.
