The University of Montreal Hospital Centre (CHUM) ended the isolation of a patient who had been classified as a suspected Ebola case on Oct. 1, 2026, after an assessment concluded the individual no longer met that definition.

The precautionary isolation, initially imposed after a possible Ebola exposure, was lifted and Ebola-specific protocols were not activated. Ellen Caracas of CHUM confirmed the decision following the review.
