On October 15, 2026, the Competition Bureau announced a settlement with the Quebec real estate industry association that will ease the restrictions previously placed on members' data sharing.
The rules in question had been judged to constitute an abuse of dominance under the Competition Act.
The bureau, which enforces Canada’s Competition Act and can intervene when market practices limit competition, said the agreement eliminates the breach.
