The Quebec Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility announced that eastbound Highway 40 will be fully closed overnight from October 31 to November 1, 2026, for pavement repair work, leading to traffic delays.
The shutdown will cover the segment between exit 85, which includes Bourget Boulevard, Marien Avenue and St‑Jean‑Baptiste Boulevard, and the Tricentenaire entrance in Montreal and Montreal East.
The ministry indicated that road closures of this type are routinely scheduled to maintain major highways.
