On October 31, 2026, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen posted a video of herself singing “My Heart Will Go On” from the summit’s highest point on Mount Royal in Montreal.
The video was shared after she faced criticism for delivering the opening speech at the Canada‑Europe summit entirely in English. In the posted clip she performed a French‑language rendition of the Céline Dion classic.
