An information technology incident on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, forced the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) to suspend its online portals and telephone lines, leaving workers and employers without digital or phone support.
The outage affected all of the CCQ’s electronic services, including its website, online forms, and the call centre that handles inquiries from construction firms and laborers across the province. The commission, which administers labor standards, certification and payroll for Quebec’s construction sector, typically provides round‑the‑clock assistance through these channels.
According to the CCQ, the disruption was caused by a computer‑related incident that disabled the systems used for both internet and telephone communications. The agency has not released further technical details, but confirmed that technical teams are working to restore functionality as quickly as possible.
The interruption comes at a time when many construction projects rely on the CCQ’s digital tools for scheduling, compliance checks and payroll processing. While the commission continues its restoration efforts, employers and workers are advised to seek alternative methods for urgent matters until the online and phone services are fully operational again.
