A man in his 30s was injured with a sharp object at about 2:10 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of Gouin Boulevard and 8th Avenue in Montreal’s West Island. Police said the incident grew out of an altercation that began Saturday night and escalated into a stabbing early Sunday.
Officers responded to the scene, treated the injured individual and later apprehended a suspect in Mirabel, Quebec. The investigation linked the arrest to the stabbing that occurred at the West Island location.
The case involved one injured person and one arrest, with both events occurring within hours of each other.
