On September 28, 2026, the mayor of Montreal and the mayor of the borough of Pierrefonds opened a brand‑new indoor aquatic centre in Pierrefonds, on the city’s West Island. The facility was built at a cost of more than $70 million and is expected to be fully operational in 2027.
