Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada announced on October 15, 2026 that the city will spend $15.8 million on a winter road maintenance plan. The budget includes $13.3 million earmarked for the purchase of new equipment.
The investment is intended to modernize Montreal’s winter road maintenance operations, which are challenged each year by heavy snowfall.
By upgrading equipment and technology, the city aims to improve its ability to keep roads clear during the winter season.
