The city of Montreal and the Quebec Ministry of the Environment are in court to decide who must fund the cleanup of a hydrocarbon spill that occurred in October 2024 at Pointe-aux-Trembles.
The incident released hundreds of liters of hydrocarbons into the Saint Lawrence River, and the source of the contamination has not been identified.
The legal dispute arises two years after the spill, with both parties seeking a ruling on financial responsibility for the remediation.
