On Tuesday morning, Oct. 27, the Vaudreuil‑Hudson and Candiac commuter rail lines in Montreal were delayed by as much as an hour. The slowdown occurred even though the routes share tracks with Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Kansas City, and the delays were not attributed to the typical shared‑track problems.
Both lines frequently experience interruptions that are linked to their use of freight‑rail tracks, but the cause of Tuesday’s delays was reported as unrelated to those usual issues.
