The mayor of Montreal and the mayor of the borough of Pierrefonds inaugurated a new indoor aquatic centre in the West Island on September 28, 2026. The $70 million project, which has been in planning for years, is scheduled to become fully operational in 2027.
The centre is intended to provide a long‑awaited recreation facility for residents of the West Island.
