The Société de transport de Montréal announced a winter 2026 plan to raise safety on the city’s metro network. The initiative includes more police officers, additional surveillance cameras, extra constables and the deployment of social workers throughout the system.

The city of Montreal and its police force are working with the transit agency to implement these measures as colder weather approaches, aiming to enhance commuters’ feeling of security during the season.
