Montreal police will increase the size of its sexual exploitation unit by adding 15 new officers during the week of Oct. 12, 2026.
The unit, which already includes roughly 50 investigators, is receiving the additional staff thanks to funding that the provincial Ministry of Public Security confirmed in the spring.
The reinforcement is intended to broaden the police service’s capacity to combat sexual exploitation in the city.
