The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) will increase its sexual exploitation unit by fifteen officers beginning the week of October 11, 2026. The expansion will raise the unit's staff to nearly fifty investigators.
Funding for the new positions comes from the Quebec Ministry of Public Security, which confirmed the budget allocation in the spring.
