Montreal police announced on October 2, 2026 that a suspect was taken into custody in Mexico in connection with a homicide that occurred on March 14, 2025.

The victim of that 2025 killing was a 34‑year‑old man.

The recent detention is the third arrest made by Montreal police in relation to the case.
