On October 26, 2026, an ethics investigation was opened into an unnamed Montreal police officer accused of urinating on homeless individuals. The inquiry will be overseen by Police Ethics Commissioner Guy Lapointe Jr. and the province’s independent watchdog, the Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI).

The province’s new domestic security minister announced that both the commissioner and the BEI will examine the allegations in Montreal, Quebec.
