Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada announced on Oct. 15 that the city will invest $15.8 million in a winter road maintenance plan, with $13.3 million earmarked for new equipment.
The funding aims to modernize Montreal’s winter road maintenance operations, addressing the heavy snowfall that the city regularly experiences and the need for updated tools to keep roads safe.
The allocation is part of the city’s broader effort to ensure extensive road upkeep during the winter months.
