Montreal's drinking water distribution and production network has been classified as critical, leading city officials to urge the provincial government to make its maintenance a priority.
Officials including Martinez Ferrada and Paul St-Pierre Plamondon noted that the annual assessment points to aging infrastructure and growing strain on the system, requiring urgent upkeep to avoid service failures.
The assessment warns that without prompt action, the network could experience interruptions.
