Municipal Professionals to Strike Evenings and Weekends from Oct. 2
Around 3,000 municipal workers will start a second strike covering evenings, nights and weekends on Oct. 2, following a one‑day strike in March.

Approximately 3,000 municipal professionals in Montreal will begin a second strike on October 2, 2026, extending to evenings, nights and weekends.
The action is being organized by the Montreal Municipal Professionals Union, an independent union separate from central unions. The union previously held a one‑day strike on March 30.
