The Office municipal d’habitation de Montréal announced it will force the eviction of roughly 20 vulnerable families from public housing units in Rivière-des-Prairies. The evictions are scheduled to occur by early November 2026, within three weeks of Oct. 23, 2026.
The move is part of a broader demolition program the agency has begun, targeting aging public‑housing buildings. The OMHM manages the city’s public‑housing portfolio and has recently started a series of building demolitions.
