La Malterie Inc. started a partial demolition of the Canada Malting plant building in the Saint-Henri neighbourhood of Montreal on October 19, with the work slated to continue through October 23. The demolition follows an engineering report commissioned by the developer that indicated the need to remove portions of the structure.
The plant, recognized as a historic industrial site, is being taken down as part of a broader redevelopment plan for the location.
