The Parti Québécois announced it will request an official recount of the Vachon riding results after its candidate fell behind by ten votes.
The narrow margin was revealed in the provincial election count released on October 7, 2026, where PQ candidate Stephan Fogaing trailed Liberal candidate Affine Lwalalika.
The party said the slim difference justifies a verification of the tally.
