On October 7, the Parti Québécois formally asked for a recount of the election results in the Vachon riding after its candidate Stephan Fogaing was reported to be ten votes behind Liberal candidate Affine Lwalalika.
The ten‑vote margin in the south‑shore of Montreal constituency prompted the party to seek a review of the count.
