Five weeks after its launch, Quebec’s province‑wide digital health record system is encountering technical and operational difficulties, though the health agency reports that the problems are starting to ease. Santé Québec, the provincial health authority, said the system was introduced to centralize patient information across hospitals, clinics and other care providers, aiming to streamline access to medical histories.

The rollout, which began in early May, has generated mixed feedback from health professionals. Some users have reported glitches that delay the retrieval of records, while others note that the platform has already helped coordinate care for a number of patients. Santé Québec acknowledged that the early phase is marked by both progress and setbacks, emphasizing that troubleshooting is underway.

According to the agency, the most common technical issues involve data synchronization between legacy systems and the new platform. Operational challenges include training staff on the new interface and adjusting workflow to incorporate electronic records. The health authority has deployed additional support teams to address these concerns and has begun a series of updates aimed at stabilizing performance.
