The city of Saint-Lin-Laurentides has teamed up with deposit‑pickup firm Go Consigne to start a home collection service for used beverage containers. Residents who sign up will receive a tax credit and a larger portion of the deposit refund, with the program covering about 62 percent of the deposit return.
The partnership enables the company to pick up containers directly from participating households, simplifying the return process and increasing the amount of material recovered.
This initiative is part of a broader expansion of Quebec's province‑wide deposit‑return system, which is being rolled out in select municipalities through similar home‑pickup services.
