St. James United Church in Montreal announced on 26 September 2026 that it is seeking donations to cover multi‑million‑dollar maintenance and repair costs for its historic building.
The parish says rising expenses and the costly upkeep of the structure have created a financial shortfall.
The church, which has served the Montreal community since the late 1880s, is recognized as a historic landmark.
